Pay It Forward for the Animals
If you have been touched in some positive way by an animal,
or have had a special animal companion who enriched your life,
I invite you to take part in a new movement linked spiritually
to the wonderful Pay It Forward movement. If you aren't familiar
with it, Pay It Forward is a book written by Catherine Ryan Hyde.
Since the book's release in January 2000, a social movement has
begun, based on an action plan. In the book, a 12 year old boy
came up with an idea to make a difference: Do an act of kindness
for three people and ask that instead of paying you back, they
"pay it forward" and each help three people. In this way, the
good deeds spread exponentially.
"Do what you can, with what you
have, where you are."
Theodore Roosevelt
Wouldn't it be a tremendous testimony to the human-animal bond
if friends and supporters of CFC began an offshoot movement to
show our gratitude for the joy, love and devotion our animal friends
bestow upon us each and every day? Or perhaps, to express our
appreciation for the companionship of a beloved animal companion
who has passed on? A wonderful way to thank your animal would
be to 'pay it forward' and make a contribution that will help
enable CFC to continue its important mission to provide for homeless,
neglected or abused animals.

VIRGINIA
1985-1999

In HONOR of VIRGINIA,
who came to me in a very sad time in my life when all I
felt was dispair and the sting of failures and loss; her joy and
enthusiasm sustained me through this hard time and brought the
whole family so much happiness. Over the years, she also served
as a personal trainer to my husband and in the 13th year of her
life even graciously nurtured her new little brother, Brutus,
as pictured above.
